Alice - Malayalam Movie Review

Alice

Story: The film moves around the identity of a girl and her inimitable painting style.

In the film Alice, the lead actor makes constant reference to hidden images with an effervescent glint in his eye. He does this whenever he glances at a series of paintings. He brings his face close to these paintings, widens his eyes, mouth and lips and goes on ranting about hidden images in a feverish state of mind.

For some reason, the usage stays with the film for it is ridden with 'hidden images' and viewers are supposed to crack the codes and decipher the logic with the skill of a cryptologist. It's a film which starts off dealing with multiple personality and then switching on to romantic effusions for a while and finally coming back to present a confused array of scenes where characters come up with weird explanations and indulge in long discourse.

The only thing missing is a sense of

logic and some trace of purpose. The actors talk more like godmen than human beings as though they find themselves joyfully confined to religiously sanctified places. Alice is a disarrayed, disoriented narrative presented with confusing terminologies to describe the weird behavioural pattern of the characters.
