Google and Microsoft today announced that they are working together for the new YouTube app for Windows Phone under Google’s terms of service. This new app will hit the Windows Phone app stores in coming weeks.
Previously Microsoft released their own YouTube app for Windows Phone, it violated many of the YouTube’s terms and services. Because of that Google sends Microsoft a cease and desist letter telling that to take down the YouTube app before May 22. The old YouTube app had directly violated many of YouTube’s terms of services like it can download YouTube videos and can watch videos without advisements, this will affect badly to the YouTube ecosystem.
On May 24 Microsoft and Google tougher made a statement that the “Microsoft and YouTube are working together to update the new YouTube for Windows Phone app to enable compliance with YouTube’s API terms of service, including enabling ads, in the coming weeks.” And they also added that the “Microsoft will replace the existing YouTube app in Windows Phone Store with the previous version during this time.”
Windows Phone users can able to taste the native YouTube app within a short week
